Abbie Stanton

Artist, maker, animator and visual storyteller

Abbie Stanton is an artist, maker and animator. A visual storyteller working in a variety of media, her recent makes include: a giant three dimensional zoetrope of galloping horses, recreating the work of David Dale’s stables for the Tide Mills Project; a tailored bag (made from men’s jackets) and accompanying written backstory for a metre and a half long wooden organ pipe (an exhibition of invited artists repurposing the pipes of a dismantled organ); willow plants for an illuminated walled garden at Wakehurst and has been design and project lead on multiple street tableaux for Lewes Bonfire (who remembers Cameron and the pig’s head?).

Abbie likes a challenge!

For the Walk the Chalk project, she plans to make a vast, human powered, bird automaton, wheeling above the cliffs at Seaford Head.

Abbie lives in Lewes with her partner and their ditch-diving dog, Pixel.
